Claire Fry ACR FIIC
Director
Trained in Archaeological Conservation and Care of Collections at Cardiff University, Claire has since enjoyed a 25 year career as a preventive conservator working with clients such as the National Trust, English Heritage and private institutions across the UK. Accredited by the Institute of Conservation in 2010, Claire became an assessor for the Institute’s accreditation scheme in 2012, a mentor in 2014 and a Trustee in 2019. Founding Spencer & Fry in 2015, Claire continues to work across all areas of preventive conservation with a particular interest in Emergency & Salvage Planning and enabling filming in historic locations. She also regularly trains and lectures for institutions and universities across the UK.
Charlotte Tomlin ACR
Senior Preventive & Filming Conservator
Charlotte studied Medieval History at the University of St Andrews before turning to conservation completing a Masters degree in the conservation of archaeological and museum objects at Durham University. With over 10 years industry experience, working for Museums, National Trust Scotland and English Heritage, Charlotte joined Spencer & Fry in 2018 taking responsibility within the company for Environmental Monitoring and Control and is also a trusted and highly experienced filming conservator.
Heather Murphy
Preventive & Filming Conservator
After graduating in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Art in 2010, Heather began her conservation career advising Clients on framing and care of artworks including use of materials, preparation of works for display and environmental conditions. She went on to complete a Masters degree in the Conservation of Artworks on Paper, working for institutions including BFI National Archive and The Royal Collection. Prior to joining Spencer and Fry in 2022, Heather was Conservation Team Leader at the British Library. She takes the lead on paper and plastics at Spencer & Fry.
Holly Cook
Preventive & Filming Conservator
Holly graduated in History from the University of Sheffield in 2016, going on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Conservation Studies and an MA in Conservation of Cultural Heritage. She began her professional career working as a Conservation Assistant for the National Trust followed by roles as Collections Decant Assistant and Assistant Collections Manager at the Science Museum and then Assistant Collections Manager at The British Museum. After working as a paper conservator at the Mathaf Museum of Modern Art in Qatar, she joined Spencer & Fry in 2022 where she takes the lead on Insect Pest Management.
Eve Andreski
Preventive & Filming Conservator
Eve graduated in 2021, completing a masters in Collections Care through the Cardiff Masters Excellence Scholarship scheme, with a focus on writing and speaking on conservation disaster planning. Prior to joining Spencer & Fry in 2023, Eve worked in documentation, with organisations including Bristol Museums, the Portable Antiquities Scheme and the British Empire and Commonwealth Collection where she focused on using cataloguing and digitisation to make collections available to diverse stakeholders. Eve has a particular interest in ethics and sustainability within the heritage sector, and planning ahead for a changing world.
Nicole Bryant
Business Support & Marketing Manager
Nicole has an extensive background in advertising and marketing, as well as experience of small business management. She works with Spencer & Fry to support the team on a daily basis as well as working on any marketing initiatives.
